Add Data to a Project

In addition to connecting data sources and uploading assets to the data asset catalog, users can upload data directly in the Project workflow. Data can be added by any user listed as a Project Manager or Contributing Member within a project.

To add a data asset in Project Flow, start in the Project Overview.

  1. Select "Flow" to view the Project Flow
  2. Open the "Input Data Asset" drop down menu in the desired Input Data Asset Group
    • Input Groups are useful to organize data related data assets. Multiple data assets can belong to a single input group. Groups can be set up to validate all data assets against a specific target input schema. 
    • To create a new Input Group, select the blue "+ Add Input" button at the top of the Input Data column.
  3. Select "Add Input Data Asset"
  4. Select your desired data asset from the data asset catalog and hit "Add Selected"

To add a data asset in the Input Data Assets tab, start in the Project Overview.

  1. Select "Input Data Assets" to view input assets in the project
  2. Select "Add Data Assets" in the top-right corner
  3. Choose upload source type
    • "Upload" will prompt users to upload a new data asset from their computer or add data assets manually
    • "From Catalog" will prompt users to select from current assets within the workspace's Data Asset Catalog
    • For either option, users will be prompted to select an Input Data Asset Group
  4. Select or upload your desired data asset and hit "Add Selected"
