Update Data Asset Details

Updating data asset details is the best way to add metadata and enrich data assets. Only Data Asset Managers can update data asset details.
Two sections can be updated to add metadata to Data Assets: Overview and Schema.
Update Data Asset Overview
To update data asset overview, start in the Data Asset Catalog;
- Select the name of the data asset for which user is a manager and would like to modify.

Click "Edit" to begin editing the data assets details. Editable items include:
- Data Asset Name
- Description
- Tags
- Asset Manager
- Asset Status
- Data Sensitivity
- Asset Specific Policies
- Source
- Data Refresh
- Click "Save Changes" on the upper-right hand corner of the Overview tab.

Update Schema
Adding details to schemas can add rich context to the type of data within each asset, allowing other data partners to better understand what each element in the data asset represents. To update Schema, start in the Data Asset Overview;
- Select the tab labeled "Schema".
- On the far-right side, select "Edit" for any schema detail you would like to update.
- Add field descriptions and update PII categorization.
- Select "Save Changes".
