1. Overview

We’re excited to announce the release of Version 2.5.0 of the Brighthive platform. This release brings major upgrades to BrightAgent, governance, visualization, and self-service, along with key fixes to improve stability and user experience.

Highlights include:

  • Omni BrightAgent: Embedded across catalog and projects for easier access.

  • Governance Agent Integration: Quality Agent now fully connected in the frontend.

  • Visualization Enhancements: More customization for charts, including axis control, multiple metrics, and color options.

  • Self-Service Enhancements: Phase 2 rollout of frictionless trial signup.

  • Catalog Improvements: Richer source/connection details, ability to delete assets, and warehouse table names shown in views.

  • Platform Stability: Fixes for Airbyte source spec errors, login session handling, and BrightAgent timeouts.

  • Warehouse Integration: Warehouse creation now automatically links to OpenMetadata.

2. Key Enhancements and Fixes

BrightAgent

  • BrightAgent now appears across catalog and project contexts.

  • Governance Agent and Quality Agent fully integrated into the frontend.

  • Addressed API timeouts by testing and upgrading instance limits.

Visualization Agent

  • Customize axis names and values.

  • Plot multiple metrics on the same chart.

  • New formatting options: axis renaming, color schemes, flip axis.

  • Resolved “No Numerical Columns Detected” error.

Self-Service Trial

  • Expanded trial signup flow with additional onboarding improvements.

Data Catalog

  • Sources now pull from source names, and connection names from Airbyte.

  • Fixed issue where some source forms would not load.

  • Users can now delete assets directly from the catalog.

  • Warehouse table names are now displayed in catalog views.

Warehouse & Metadata

  • Creating a warehouse also creates a database link in OpenMetadata.

Platform Fixes

  • Login page now requires explicit logout; valid sessions automatically restore.
